Malaysia on Thursday announced it would scrap visa-free entry for North Koreans — the latest diplomatic fallout from last month’s assassination of Kim Jong Nam in Kuala Lumpur.
The move was aimed at safeguarding national security, according to Zahid Hamidi, Malaysia’s deputy prime minister.
Mr Kim, half brother of North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong Un, was murdered with what police say was the deadly nerve agent VX while he waited to board a flight to Macau in Kuala Lumpur International Airport last month.
