The author of the dossier of sensational allegations against Donald Trump has disappeared from view, slipping away from his home to an unknown destination in a manner befitting his past as an intelligence agent.
Former MI6 officer Christopher Steele’s dossier, including allegations of bizarre sexual exploits and international political conspiracies, has been condemned by Mr Trump and the Kremlin. The dossier presents no conclusive proof and has not been independently verified.
Yet some of those who worked with Mr Steele, who operated in Moscow in the early 1990s and later served as MI6’s chief expert on Russia in London before resigning in 2009 to set up Orbis Business Intelligence, are prepared to vouch for his previous work.
