Man Utd looks to score in China with 24-hour TV channel

Manchester United will become the first football club to launch a dedicated 24-hour television channel in China next week, as it looks to keep up with growing Chinese interest in the sport.

Sina Sports, an online sports platform, will begin broadcasting the club’s MUTV on its website, mobile site and app next Sunday. The channel provides match highlights, features and news dedicated to the English Premiership club.

Arthur Wei, senior vice-president at Sina, said the deal “will make great strides to change the way China watches and understands the game of football”.
