Hong Kong authorities have interviewed JPMorgan Chase’s former head of investment banking in China, as they investigate whether the bank bribed government officials by hiring their relatives.
Fang Fang, who resigned from JPMorgan in March after 12 years, was interviewed and released by Hong Kong’s Independent Commission Against Corruption but told not to travel, say two people familiar with the matter.
He has been co-operating with the ICAC probe for a month and has provided documents and records to help in that investigation, said one person close to Mr Fang. JPMorgan declined to comment. Mr Fang could not be reached.
