Huawei will establish a London-based team to manage the Chinese telecoms manufacturer’s international finances in the latest sign that the privately owned group is embracing western practices.
The office, to be based in the City, will carry out a broad range of financial activities for Huawei, including treasury and risk management functions.
The company has hired several senior bankers to run the office, which is still in the process of being set up, and has quietly begun recruiting in the City for a team to carry out a range of risk management activities, covering areas such as foreign exchange risk, counterparty risk and country risk.
