A US military court has found Bradley Manning, the army intelligence analyst accused of divulging a trove of classified documents and battlefield videos to WikiLeaks, not guilty of the most serious charge laid against him – aiding the enemy.
However the 25-year-old still faces a lengthy prison term after the trial judge found him guilty of all but one of the other 21 charges laid against him, most of them under the Espionage Act.
If the maximum prison term were applied to each of the charges of which he was found guilty, he could face a sentence of 136 years.
