Twitterhas taken an early lead over Facebookin the mobile advertising market, analysts say, despite the 140-character messaging site having fewer users.
Consultancy eMarketer published a report yesterday suggesting Twitter will earn almost twice as much revenue from mobile advertising as Facebook this year in the US, their largest ad market.
Twitter’s 2012 mobile revenues of $130m will increase to $273m next year, eMarketer forecasts, while Facebook’s will leap from $73m to $387m in 2013.
