Acer, the world’s third- largest PC vendor by shipments, is enjoying explosive growth in China, in a sign that the Taiwanese company is finally making in-roads following a decade of failed attempts to penetrate the market next door.
The company expects its full-year revenue in China to jump 70 per cent compared with 2010 to about $2.5bn on soaring notebook shipments, Oliver Ahrens, president of Acer China, told the Financial Times.
“The first quarter was our best quarter ever in China by both revenue and profit, and the second quarter is even better,” Mr Ahrens said.
