Greg Brown, Motorola Solutions chief executive, said the US electronics company still hopes to complete the $1.2bn sale of its mobile networks business to Nokia Siemens Networks in the current quarter, in spite of a legal battle with Huawei, the Chinese telecommunications group.
Earlier this week a US court granted a request from Huawei, the Chinese telecoms equipment maker, to block temporarily the transfer of certain technology from Motorola to Nokia Siemens Networks – a decision sources close to NSN fear might delay the sale.
However, Mr Brown, who described the Huawei suit as “without merit”, said he was still confident the deal will be approved quickly by Chinese regulators and will close this quarter.
