Macao gambling tycoon Stanley Ho has made a rare television appearance in a bid to defuse speculation about a family feud over his business empire.
Mr Ho, who is 89 and in poor health, said he had no intention of taking legal action to reverse the transfer of a controlling stake in his flagship holding company to his third wife and the five children from his second marriage.
Speaking from the home of his third wife, Ina Chan, Mr Ho said the public dispute had taken a toll on his family. “I really love my family members,” Mr Ho said on TV on Wednesday. “I never took the action of suing [them]. The statement [confirming the transfer] I made [should] be implemented.”
