Iran yesterday blamed the US and Israel for the killing of a nuclear scientist who died when a remote-controlled bomb exploded outside his home in Tehran.
Massoud Ali Mohammadi, a professor of physics and nuclear energy at Tehran University, was the third Iranian nuclear scientist known to have died or disappeared since 2007. He was killed at 7.30am by a device hidden inside a motorcycle.
Ramin Mehmanparast, foreign ministry spokesman, said that “Zionist elements” and “US mercenaries” had used their “paid agents” to carry out the killing.
