An overhaul of Microsoft's internet search engine could finally put the quality of its service more on a par with search group Google, but the software company is still likely to struggle to win back market share it has lost in recent years, according to analysts.
The revamp, which the company plans to show off at an industry conference later this week, will include new relevance technology designed to anticipate more of a searcher's interests from an initial query.
A full relaunch of the service is also expected within days, with a new brand to replace the present Live.com and a marketing campaign.
