President Barack Obama yesterday gave a stern warning to North Korea, telling it not to carry out a “provocative” rocket launch due for as early as today.
North Korea plans to launch an intercontinental ballistic missile – which Pyongyang says will carry a communications satellite into space – from Musudanri between today and Wednesday.
“Should North Korea decide to take this action, we will work with all interested partners in the international community to take appropriate steps to let North Korea know that they cannot threaten the safety and stability of other countries with impunity,” Mr Obama told a joint news conference with French President Nicolas Sarkozy in Strasbourg.
