Wiz and Google call off $23bn acquisition talks

Parent company Alphabet had been in talks to buy the Israeli cybersecurity company

Wiz and Google have called off acquisition talks, according to an email sent to Wiz employees, terminating a $23bn deal that would have been the largest-ever purchase of a venture-backed company.

Google parent company Alphabet had been in talks to buy the Israeli cyber security company, which would have been the largest acquisition in the search company’s history.

“While we are flattered by offers we have received, we have chosen to continue on our path to building Wiz,” the company told employees in its email. A second source confirmed the deal had fallen through.
