Hunter Biden indicted on federal gun charges

US president’s son faces three new counts after plea deal collapsed in July

Hunter Biden has been charged with lying about his drug use when purchasing a gun in a three-count federal indictment that renews an increasingly politicised legal challenge to the son of the US president.

The indictment, filed in Delaware federal court on Thursday, accuses Hunter Biden of signing a federal form used in gun purchases that requires buyers to certify they are not an “unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance”.
